Great place to raise a family, bad weather! - 5/21/2008

Pittsburgh is a great place to raise a family. Lots of great things to do for families and/or couples. Some of them are free too! Lots of rivers, lakes and parks. The parks are great for kids with tons of playgrounds and sporting fields. Great sports teams to follow. Lots of museums. Biggest problem is taxes are high. Cost of living is very reasonable though. Weather is bad. Lots of cloudy, rainy days. We do have all four seasons, even though the winters have been much milder over the years (less snow!). Great location for driving too other big cities, ie. DC, Baltimore, Phili, NYC, Chicago. (between 4-7 hours by car). Public schools are excellent.[read more...]
