Cost of living has gone up - 10/22/2007
When I moved here in 1997, this was still a quite little place. In the ensuing 10 years, many people from New Jersey and New York have moved here to escape the high cost of living expense in those areas. This exodus has driven up the cost of living in this area. Over Priced housing under paid positions - 5/3/2006
The area in and around Macungie is nice but farms that had been in place for one or two centuries are now ugly over priced homes and condo's. People from the N.J. and NY city area have arrived and distroyed the natural climate. They drive up prices, drive down the quality of life (they bring there bad habits with them and there bad axcent they can't even prononce Lancaster correctly it is not LAND-caster)
Jobs in the area are still paying 1990 wages and most local people are priced out of the housing market. they alliens drive back to there home land and wast gas doing it to keep there high paying jobs, so they can pay for there over priced homes.
If you think about moving to the macungie area and have a middle income position don't move you will be sorry![read more...] |
