It's okay. - 10/9/2011

Well, I have lived in Mount Joy, pa for about a year...it's nice and quiet and the people stay to themselves. This could be a good thing if you stay to yourself as well. I'm divided in my viewpoints about religion but notice more so that if you're "NOT FROM HERE", then you are kind of an outcast...a sore on the flesh or worth folks who live here...it is primarily Christian/Protestant...and I am absolutely FINE with that; however, I find that most Christians in this area are too much "to themselves." If one wants to be an effective disciple (myself included too) one has to get out there and meet people other than those who believe the way you do. It's like loving someone who already loves you! Where's the work in that? The bible is clear...love your neighbors as you do yourself. It also says, do kindly to those who have harmed you...this means forgiving them. Gods word also says, "Do not hide your light under a bushel, NO!" This means, if you are "in hiding" like the Amish, for example...afraid to commingle with others who may not share your beliefs, so they can see and learn WHAT you believe and perhaps be that much closer to accepting Christ as THEIR personal Lord and Savior, you are then not being a very effective "Christ like" neighbor. Our Savior was out and about dicipling...he wasn't hiding his light...he was letting it shine for all to see! That is OUR jobs as Christians...whether one is "From here" or NOT![read more...]
