Good for retirees, not so good if you want to work - 5/23/2009
Most folks are quite polite and friendly: Transplants make friends with transplants, and there are more moving in all the time. The library system in Spartanburg county is the best I have experienced in all the places I have lived - fantastic. The main religion organization is Southern Baptist - but there are all of the other denominations available; - Church socialization is the main social outlet in the small communities. Many volunteer opportunities in Polk County (just across the border in Columbus and Tryon, NC, which is a good place to meet other transplants and to cultivate friendships.[read more...] |
