South Carolina has probably the worst schools in the nation. Everyone has heard of or seen the news stories on the school buildings here that are past due for demolition. Poor counties suffer the most because each county is responsible for raising the funds for their schools - this means that the children of this state may receive a great education in nice schools (Horry County) or a lousy education in a building that is falling down around them (Marion County). This is a great place for retirement but not for young people with families.[read more...] |
