Gatesville is a quiet, quaint town that fell off a Norman Rockwell painting at first glance but look harder and the scene is a bit different. The homes are dreadfully old & infact are falling apart with little care from the owners. Beauty definately comes at a cost here, not $$ as it is quite affordable if you are willing to commute between 1/2-1 hour one way, no $$ is not the issue, the issue being the people...surrounding towns will be the first to tell you of the almost "cult" like atmosphere. I just got back from visiting Missouri for 4 days. Anyone moving in needs to know about the weather here at night it got down to the low 90's mid80's and into the 100s during the day. In Missouri it was in the low 70's upper 60's at night and a whopping 90-95 degree high. If you are new to this area of Texas, get used to living in an oven of straight hot heat. Read More
