Nice Small Town BUT. . . - 8/5/2006
We moved to La Center 18 months ago from Vancouver, WA. Came here because we had heard how good the schools are and wanted to move to a smaller town. It is beautiful here and does have a small town feel. After having lived here for a while we have noticed that there is a definite class distinction in town -- those that live "up on the hill" and those that live "down below" in town. This distinction is very evident in the schools and in the community. There is much development being done with about 300 to 500 houses being added within the next year. And there is a possiblity that an Indian casino will be built just up the road -- the largest one on the West Coast. Sadly I think the days of a quiet country community are quickly coming to an end.[read more...] |

A piece of God's country - 6/4/2006
our family has just moved to LaCenter,WA. from Vancouver,WA after eighteen years. This is truly a wonderful little town of 2100 residences. Friendly, pictursque,and very quiet.
