Bluefield, WV is a small town located in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. It's a good place to buy a home at a low price - 6/22/2021
My wife and I retired here.I was born near Bluefield WV but worked in NC all of my adult life. There's better opportunities for work in NC, especially Raleigh and Charlotte.
Upon retiring, we sold our NC home and bought a bigger and finer home in Bluefield. We doubled the square footage that we had in NC. Homes in Bluefield are much cheaper, lower taxes, milder weather except for the winter.
NC is very hot and humid, crowded and expensive. Higher crime rates there
I love the mountains here and am very happy to be home in WV. The only negative I see is the abandoned properties and litter. That is going to improve soon because Mercer county passed an ordinance to clean up the mess.
The people in Southern WV are friendly and very nice. It is Nature's Air Conditioned city because of the elevation here. It is about 2800 feet above sea level, making the weather here perfect. I love this Read More
