Not what it used to be

I grew up next door to Stamford in the 60-70's and watched it get inundated with nouveau riche with attitude. It is one thing living around Old Money, but all these BMW (Big money wasters) moved and and turned it into an enclave of the Rich and Callous. Only very poor, nonwhites work in the local businesses (and they are shocked when someone actually speaks to them). Everyone is in a hurry and rude. The orginal Stepford Wives was filmed here and is now a reality. Such a shame, geographically, historically, and climatically a beautiful area. The people suck.
