Be prepared to find lots of old houses with poor insulation and old technology. They are expensive to buy and more expensive to maintained. The use of heating oil is very common. If you like and enjoy living in a country setting in structures with an old feeling and look, this may be for you. It comes at a steep price. I have noticed more new comers building new houses. It may be cheaper to build a new house and lot than to buy an old house. May be good to explore this possibility.
