Macon...what it once was and what it is now..
Star Rating - 11/26/2009
I have lived in Macon almost all of my life; by almost I mean that I lived in Warner Robins for about a year and a half almost 17 yrs ago.
I remember as a child living near in the Bloomfield area; I grew up on Woodcrest Rd., it was a very nice neighborhood, all of Bloomfield was nice then. My parents had friends who had bought homes in Village Green and back in the neighborhoods behind it. What happened to macon? Its dangerous on every corner or side of town, the schools we went to as children aren't even safe enough for our kids to go to now. How come Warner Robins hasnt let the ghetto take over their city, but Macon has given in to the ghetto and the trash that comes out of it? Maybe we should set standards here, make these idiots keep their pants up, turn their car stereos down, clean up their neighborhoods, get off welfare, teach them how to use proper english, and learn how to act civil when out in public. East Macon is completely ruined, Fort Hill is supposed to be a historic site, but what tourist would feel safe there, i'm from here and wouldnt feel safe. South Macon is infested, Village Green, Rocky Creek Rd, Houston Ave., any and every apartment complex standing. West Macon is in danger, slowly but surely the infestation is growing, Lake Wildwood which is comically called Lake WildHood., North Macon will just bring it to full circle. Its sad, my kids cant believe the pictures of what macon was like when i was growing up versus what they have to see today. We need new officials in office that care what it looks like, and we definitely need new law enforcement officials that arent too burdened down with a few hundred pounds that want to make a difference instead of just a dollar. Warner Robins is right down the road, its thriving, people are flocking out of Macon to get there, their schools are better, they have alot better lawmen out there, why cant we adopt their views and ideas and clean macon up?
