I've lived in Fargo over a decade. This is a caring, generous place of good will, which has had little opportunity to respond to ethnic and cultural changes until recently. A US program that resettles refugee immigrants (250 - 600 per year into Fargo since 1995- mostly from impovershed and wartorn African Muslim nations) is changing the literal face of the community. I believe that constant improvement and financing of Fargo infrastructures such as social and educational services and law enforcement and encouraging more volunteer mentors and giving to church benevolence and charitable organizations are one of its greatest challenges. Everyone needs time to appreciate and understand differences as dramatic as these . . . would you agree?
