It's a documented statistical fact that this is the most involuted place in America. A true backwater. People stay here their whole lives and don't move more than two doors down from their "parrains." This means that, if you have no family here, you are nothing. Cajuns like to pride themselves on their warmth and hospitality, but, I've never been anywhere with natives more cliquish nor more suspicious of outsiders, and so content with the staus quo.
