Review of Scottsbo,

Well kept secret.
Star Rating - 3/16/2007
I feel as though I live in one of the best kept secrets at least in the south, Scottsboro, Alabama. I am originally from Rhode Island but have lived here for almost eighteen years. We enjoy the Tennessee river including beautiful Lake Guntersville. You can travel to Chicago or Fla right from your boat slip if you have enough boat. We have some of the best hunting land and fishing you could ever hope to find. Beautiful neighborhoods and rich local history. Fantastic golf with four courses in and around Scottsboro and proximity to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. We are only 40 minutes from Huntsville, an easy commute on Rt 72 nearly void of traffic lights, if you seek a high tech job there. Chattanooga is about an hour away, Birmingham, Al is 90 miles, Atlanta is 128 miles, Nashville is a little more than two hours away, Knoxville too. We are centrally located to all the South has to offer. Five to six hours will find you on the gulf coast. The climate is seasonal but mostly mild, warm summers. Snow isn't out of the realm of possibility, but it's rare. And usually disappears in a day or too. We open our pool in April and close it in October. Taxes are low and the cost of living is reasonable. Most people live better here than where they came from. More than a few of my friends and relatives have come to visit and ended up relocating here. The people are friendly and warm. The school system is great and is very accomodating to special needs. If you've ever dreamed of less stressful life, living on the water, or having a ranch or farm. You can realize your dream in and around Scottsboro, a very well kept secret. Come have a look. But beware, you may fall in love, like everyone who visits seems to.
