The population is 20,000 in the borough of West Chester, however the population of the nearby municipalities that are considered to be West Chester is roughly 100,000. Downtown (High, Market, Gay, Chestnut, Walnut, Matlack, and Church Streets) is a really great place to eat, meet up with friends, etc. There are a number of residential zones in the borough. Some people live in the downtown areas, but there are a number of single family homes and apartments located throughout the borough. Living in the borough is great, because everything is very accessible, and sidewalks can be found on almost every street. Just outside the borough, (google West Chester PA to see the border), there are a number of developments and shopping centers, but these aren’t really connected to downtown, making walking anywhere very hard. I definitely recommend looking at a map and going into street mode to look at West Chester yourself, if you’e interested. Anyways, I hope this helps! I know it’s 8 years too late!
