Review of Kennewick, Washington

Welcome to the Evergreen State? :-)
Star Rating - 3/13/2007
As I return to the Northwest from Dallas, no one believes me that I am moving to the Desert. But what a pleasant switch from the sodden slopes of the western Cascades. I have lived in Seattle and Portland, and I will take the dry side any day.

Although there are some challenges to growth, it is only a matter of time before this Tri-Cities area is discovered and the real estate prices and economy go ballistic (ala Spokane and Seattle.) Hot dry summers with lots of irrigation water, and the mighty Columbia, make this area a great playground. Housing prices are low (one of the last areas in the state), and with the Hanford area bringing in some serious mental talent, this place is going to spring out of the economic dark ages from the anachronism that it is.
