Review of Bear Delaw,

Former Delaware Resident
Star Rating - 10/13/2011
I have lived in Wilmington, Newark, New Castle, Bear, and Oogletown Delaware. From 1990 to 2004.

I honestly do not have anything favorable to say about Delaware, and looked to leave the moment I arrived.

Traffic is Horrible, basically bring a book, odds are you will be stuck in traffic.

Humidity is unbearable making summers sweltering & winters bone chilling. There really is not inbetween season. Summer starts in April and continues to October.

Mosquitos, you practically need a transfusion.. not like there is any reason to be outside in Delaware, or anything to do, but on your trip from your heated or air conditioned home to your heated or air conditioned car you will be eaten alive.

Wilmington, just to drive through smells like sewage. No reason to stop, unless you want to be a crime target. Not like Newark or Bear are any better, you are guarenteed to have someone at least try to steal your car.

Road Rage, along with the traffic the road rage is extremely dangerous, I even had some woman follow me home and threaten me.

Cost of living does not reflect what you Delaware "offers", traffic, crime, horrible air & water quality, high property taxes, rude people, horrible restaurants with excessive wait times.

Those I know who have chosen to stay captive in Delaware will point out no sales tax, but the property taxes and tolls more than make up for that "savings".

Schools, I do not know if they still do busing in Delaware, but I know it will still going on around the time I last lived there. A person chooses what they think is a nice area with a decent school, only to have their child bussed to the inner city.

Beaches.. if you could ever get through traffic to make it there before summer was over, you will end up having to park far from the beach and wade through masses of people to reach the polluted water.

So what does Delaware offer? It is an overpriced highway between Maryland, New Jersey & Pennsylvannia.. and that is not saying much either. (I grew up in Maryland.)

Where do I live now.. I escaped to Colorado, where I can drink the water, breath the air, and travel with out needing a gun, but I have the right to have one!
