You will most likely love Southern Utah although there is a definite schizophrenic split in regards to the people. On one hand, you have a heavily Mormon community which is more private and fundamentalist than in SLC. On the other hand you have a very liberal, outdoorsy hippy-ish type of residents. Of course there are all kinds in between but you will see a lot of folks as described above. Southern Utah is a magnificent and awe inspiring landscape.
