I can't help but to shake my head with hysteria. I've patrolled every major city forum on this website. I've been visiting for years but decided to post my first comment.
If you visit any forum about any city.......you're going to read more negative reviews than positive. It's in peoples nature to think negatively. It's easier.
The "bad" reviews about Atlanta are way over the top. People seem to be looking for a utopia. It doesn't exist. Stop looking.
Try to do the best you can with where you are.
