Review of Staunton, Virginia

Best for families and retirement
Star Rating - 8/3/2011
Staunton is a charming town of about 22,000 in the Shenandoah Valley about midway up I-81 in Virginia. There is a small downtown that has been revitalized. Numerous expensive (for my budget) restaurants and a music venue are relatively new and nice to visit on occasion. In general, though, there is not much of a "scene" for middle-aged singles. This is probably due to the size of the town. If you are raising kids or plan to retire, however, this can be a safe and excellent choice.
