Not a great place especially for young people

Macon is not a place I would really recommend anyone raising their children and if you happen to live there then stay in northern macon since that's the only place with the least crime and pretty good schools. The south side of macon is infested with crime and the buildings there look so dilapidated and high unemployment rates. The downtown area aint that great, it looks old and outdated but for sure it has some good restaurants. If you are stuck in macon and feel that it is not fit for you then you could alternatively shift to warner robins which is the next town. Warner robins has some decent schools and filled with military stuff since there is a huge base there (warner robins AFB). The other downside of macon is that it's really boring and there is no much activities or any sort of entertainment although warner robins has. In short I would mainly advise young people to refrain from macon or anywhere in central Georgia.
