Review of Charlotte, North Carolina

Disappointing.....
Star Rating - 12/12/2015
Look at this thread. The ones who say Charlotte is a good place consistently mention things like "banking" and "sports teams". Other than this yuppie-suburbanite sheep-chanting, the others who comment more negative reviews of this city focus on the lack of diversity, culture, and overall lack of access to enlightened ideals. Such are the true ingredients to a real cosmopolitan city. So yeah, basically this city is just a massive suburban Dark Age village. I went to one of the top 5 most conservative university's in the US: Texas A&M, and College Station was better than Charlotte.

Face it Charlotte, other growing cities progress better than you. Take Austin and San Antonio, for instance. Heck, if we Texans end up with a better reputation for progressive growing cities than North Carolina, then that's saying something.....:/

I live in Dallas and lived in Charlotte. You have no idea what you are talking about. Charlotte is much more liberal and open minded than Texas (except possibly Austin). The urban diversity, pro sports, Arts, Entertainment, Live Music plus the ability to visit the mountains or the beaches in a couple of hours is a big bonus for living in Charlotte. You should travel more before you state these Texas characteristics and being somehow superior.

Progressive indoctrination/politics lower quality of life. Many don't want progressive destructive policies. Thus, if you want that, then go to San Francisco and hang out with all the homeless, the gays and the illegal aliens in sanctuary cities. Charlotte has morals and values and doesn't need people who don't have Christian values or don't follow laws like in those so called "progressive cities" around the country.

Dude you have no clue. What kind of diversity do you want? The city is 50% white and 35% black. If you had tons of illegal alines around would that make you happy? Charlotte is already too liberal in my opinion, with 60% democrat in the city. Like Ron said, you should try New York or San Franciso where there are plenty of illegals, foreigners, gays etc. Then you can be in your "enlightened utopia of the dark ages" lol

As someone whos move from Texas to North Carolina, I agree 100%. Im more liberal than conservative and even though Texas is as conservative and republican as you can get, the state has a million times more character and is way more exciting than boring North Carolina. And yes, College Station, a freaking college town, is more interesting than all of Charlotte, Raleigh, and Ashville put together. NC is just too basic and too safe. Its like the nice guy of states and as they say about nice guys, they finish last.

Yep, you're comment still seems to be true for Charlotte in 2019. Charlotte still has a problem with building vibe. You can't get vibrancy building Suburban Shopping Centers over and over and over again.

Yeah but as far as quality of life concerned, NC a better state overall to live than most places in Texas.
