Spot on. I’ve lived in Eureka 15 years and Stuey’s review pretty much nails it. I would say healthcare is a mixed bag. St. Joes Hospital is good but the area is in need of more GPs. My wife and I retired here and would say it is great for seniors other than the healthcare being a bit challenging but not impossible. I had a sudden cardiac arrest and received superb treatment. Lots of senior stuff to do both on your own and through the Adorni Community Center and Humboldt State University. If you love outdoor activity this is the spot.
