Review of Palmer Ala,

Palmer living - what's in it for the military fami
Star Rating - 4/6/2008
The first time I saw Palmer was in 1974. It's grown up from the old days of farm country complete with 4-H clubs, fields of crops and livestock. Gone are most of the farm lands, but there's still a bunch around and the 4-H is still an active part of the community.

Military families like this area because it is near the Army base of Fort Richardson and Elmendorf Air Base. For a short 35 minute drive a family can have more home, more land and peaceful living than that found closer to the bases.

Our schools are wonderful and community oriented. We are close to Target (Summer 2008), a MEGA-Walmart, Fred Meyers, Safeways, and so much more.

So what is in it for Military families? Me and my family, formerly a military family, understand and appreciate the close bonds formed among the fighters that defend our country and the families left behind to defend the home front. Knowing your neighbors, relying on 'sponsors' to steer your family right and a general appreciation of the community you are there adds up to a great military home base in our book. And if you've ever grown up among other military dependents, you know having friends with the same family situation makes for life long friends.

Palmer is a sweet easy going simple town of good people - so send us more, there's room!
