Sarcoxie is a small town that has seen better days. It has the potential to be a beautiful small town. If you are looking for a quiet place to live away from the presure of big town living, Sarcoxie is the place. Quality housing is limited but there are many fixer uppers that would make nice homes. Sarcoxie schools are good and class size is small. Sarcoxie is located in the four state area of the ozarks (Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma)and within a resonable drive to tourist areas (Branson, 4 large lakes, public hunting areas). Major cities near Sarcoxie: Carthage, Joplin, Springfield)2 hours to Kansas City and Tulsa. There is a VA clinic in Mount vernon (20 min)and one in Fayetteville, Ark (2 hours).Joplin and Springfield are major medical services for the area. I can go on and on about Sarcoxie but like a beautiful rose in a drought, with water and the right person with TLC, Sarcoxie can be a special place to live. I left there in 1980 to join the army and it took me 27 years to get back and now I will never leave.
