Review of Salem Ore,

Meth
Star Rating - 8/7/2007
I lived in Salem for over 2 years and I will say that Salem has a very serious problem with meth.
I know that "meth is everywhere," however, you see more people in Salem on meth than Seattle or Portland combined. Salem has 2 prisons, a huge psychiatric hospital, and juvenile institutions. It is basically an institution
town with a lot of scandals and criminals reintegrating back into the community after they are released. Salem
has an affordable cost of living, however, drug crimes and dealers are everywhere. I would be cautious in considering moving to Salem if you have or intend to have a family. Salem is not a good place to raise children.

I would suggest Corvallis or Eugene as an alternative.

Michelle, I so agree with you. I had lived in Salem/Keizer for 5 years, had a thriving business family, home. Untell the day that I tried Meth. Meth will destroy everything you love including yourself. I dealt with dealers, cooks, suppliers and trafficers. Salem/Keizer has a bad problem that will not just go away. I have been clean now for 5 years living in a state far far away from the NW. Salem is the meth capital of the NW, the cops turn there heads the poiticians turn there heads, and some of them are even users themselves. There is so many meth labs in Salem.Kezer, Silverton, and down the coastal area. it is all over, it will never go away tell the public steps in, along with x users, it takes a user to catch a user. I have always said this and will always beleive this.
