Rude people, No good jobs
Star Rating - 6/9/2017
Most of the jobs in this state are very low paying. If you want to make minimum wage or something close to it, this place is for you. If you want something better, you;ll have to look else where. I am not from this state and was pretty shocked at just how rude and aggressive people are in this place. Every block, house and street looks exactly the same (weird) like one small area was duplicated several times and that compiled with the fact that there are no seasons here makes it very hard to tell what time of year it is and how much time has gone by. This place almost didn't feel real to me while I was there...It has no culture and you are surrounded by stuck up snobs that come from rich families and have an I'm-better-than-you-attitude. Everyone else is poor to some degree and its as if the middle class doesn't even exist here. This place seems to lack culture all together save for Mexican culture which is everywhere, and it doesn't seem to have its own identity aside from being a very Republican state. I find it bizarre how many churches there are literally everywhere including right next to stores in strip malls. This state feels like one big strip mall...I also find it unusual how many meth addicts there are in this city. Didn't that drug phase out everywhere else by now? It seems everything in AZ is behind by several years.

I really loved Phoenix until eight months went by and I realized that was it. It’s all strip malls, natural beauty yes but zero culture. And the rudest people ever it’s weird

Kay, I don't know where you are from but I agree with you. I do not like Arizona one bit. I actually hate it. I have been here 3 years and have been looking in to moving to New Hampshire or other Northern States. I am originally from Minnesota and I miss the friendly people, you know "Minnesota Nice", that is what they call us. Now that I moved to Arizona, it has changed my personality for the worse. I am a friendly outgoing person but here you meet with many enemies, and rude people. My lease expires in Nov so I am going to try to leave this place by Nov and move to another state. I do not want to spend another year here.

I've lived in Phoenix for 5 years. During this time I've found the following to be factual. 1. People are rude (see if the person in front of you with 15 items on an express line lets you go ahead of them with your 1 gallon of milk. Honk at someone sitting at a green light-get the finger from them out of their car window. Break down on the road? They'll drive right by you and never stop to help). 2. Everybody looks, thinks, and acts the same. I'm definitely an outcast here. 3. Everyone eats breakfast at 8am, lunch at noon, dinner at 5 and in bed by 8pm. EVERY DAY! 4. Nobody's interested in going anywhere during the weeknights if they work the next morning. Not a movie, dinner, nothing. 5. Nobody is interested in doing multiple events over a weekend. By that I mean, they would NEVER go to a movie friday night, dinner and dancing Saturday night and brunch on Sunday. They make you pick ONE and that's what they'll commit to. ODD. 6. Nobody invites you over to their house. I've had to impose and ask people "hey, can I stop by?" 7. Whenever there's an event (movie, concert, play, etc) as soon as the event ends, everybody runs for the exits like a mass exodus. Nobody lingers and talks before heading out. Like their going to turn into pumpkins if they're not home by midnight. 8. Zero fashion sense. And I mean ZERO. Flip-Flops are NOT SHOES people. People in Phoenix do not look in the mirror before they leave their house. They don't give a damn about what they look like or what other people think. 9. WORST, and I mean the WORST drivers in the world. Most drivers are talking or texting while driving, even with baby's in car seats. Just plain STUPID. 10. No architecture...NONE. Any cool, old buildings, they tear down to put up condo's or another strip mall. 11. I've NEVER seen a neighbor in 5 years. NOBODY comes out of their house. Not even in the cooler months. 12. Everybody has a pool, yet NOBODY goes swimming. 13. Good luck trying to find a restaurant open past 9 pm 14. No diversity at all. And not just in the nationalities of people but the way people think (see comment #2). 15. A lot of single people who are "happily single", "Single and content" or "comfortably single". These are actual responses I got from a singles dating app. Needless to say, I've always wanted to live in the desert and I recently got an opportunity to leave Phoenix and go to another state where there is diversity of people and each person thinks for themselves rather than tell me "Oh that's how we do things here in Arizona".
