Outdoor paradise ruined by politics and religion.
Star Rating - 7/11/2017
The state is an outdoor paradise of breathtaking beauty and unending opportunities for all sporting, hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing activities. Unfortunately the breathtaking is not limited to the natural beauty. The air quality in the state is abysmal and there is no political will to take any action to improve it.
Outside of Salt Lake County the state is extremely conservative, racist, and dogmatically Mormon. Sans a membership in good standing in the LDS Church including a temple recommend your political, business, and social isolation will be total. That said I left because I could no longer tolerate the air quality or lack of it. The burning eyes, runny nose, and wheezing just got to be too much.

You got some nerve associating being conservative and being racist. You are probably a liberal visiting from California and making assumptions based on your fake liberal main stream media.

Utah's air pollution overall is actually very good, it is just in and around the Salt lake area that it is not good, and most of that has to do with wild fires and the eastern mountain ranges creating an inversion. People from California should not be throwing stones because their air quality is also extremely bad, especially southern CA LA area. It is by far one of the worst, and in part also due to wild fires and low rain fall. Utah also has one of the lowest rates of poverty, crime, and unemployment, moderate cost of living, and if you don't live in the Salt Lake area (or are not asthmatic), one of the highest quality of life ratings. Your poor experience in Utah says more about you than the state. If you want the best air quality then you want to live in Washington or Oregon, but not because they actually do anything better, it just rains a lot up there which prevents wild fires and the rain helps clean the air. However, then you have to live with very little sunshine and clouds and rain more often than not, and a lot of people see that as a poor quality of life. Then there is the absurdly high cost of living, crime, poverty... so choose your poison. Oh and how "welcoming" are folks up there to conservatives? Unless you agree whole heartedly to their dogmatic left wing ideology social isolation will be total their as well so...
