Most of the Kearns area was built from the 1950's - 1970's. The schools and houses are old and in need of updating. In the past 10 years, more minorities have moved into the township. Kearns now has a large Hispanic population. According to the statistics, Kearns as a whole is both poverty and crime ridden. There are also a large number of sex offenders according the sex offender registry.
