If you don't like Bridgeport but still want a city life, New Haven is the best place to go. I was born and raised in CT and lived in Bpt for 3 years until I graduated high school (I grew up mostly in Stratford) . When I attended SCSU in New Haven I realized how much better the public transportation and nightlife was there!With any city, you just have to be careful where you live. The downtown area where Yale is has apartments but they are expensive and are rented mainly by the Ivy leaguers.
