Great commute and easy shopping - 6/29/2006

Litter - 5/25/2006
You can't go 10 feet without watching out for dog poo. Some streets are completely strewn with litter, no matter how often clean up crews come by or police drive by (in search of hard working citizens to give unwarranted tickets to- if you move here with a car, expect a ticket a month on average, with slightly more when you first get here).[read more...] |

Norwood Niceties - 2/27/2006
The Norwood section of Bronx,NY is a pocket of NYC that comprises of working class families and many children. Overseen by the 52nd Precinct, crime has decreased from 2002-2006, and residential ownership has been on the incline along Mosholu Parkway South community.
Footsteps from the Botanical Gardens and a tree-lined parkway, Norwood offers plenty of foliage and small parks for children to play. Although the neighborhood is beginning to define itself from street to street, you can still find a great community atmosphere and residents who have been in the neighborhood for over 30-years. Norwood offers a truly diverse population and a wonderful community shopping strip no more than 2-4 blocks from your doorstep in any direction. As a resident of the neighborhood for nearly 10 years, I think it offers an above-average quality of life for those that are single and new and growing young families.[read more...] |
