I Like Woodside - 9/23/2011
I like Woodside. It is extremely convenient to NYC, P.S. 229 is one of the best public elementary schools in NYC, and every one I meet on the street always has a smile. World culture is everywhere here, a place where walking on the street can be an adventure found no where else in America. Is it perfect? DON'T MOVE HERE!!!! - 8/13/2009
I was born in NY, lived here all my life. it was SO COOL growing up here in the 60's and 70's. But NOW???? I wouldn't even WALK THROUGH this neighborhood.DON'T come here. it's horrible. Smelly, very dirty, especially Roosevelt Ave., alot of crime,etc, etc, just awful. I would move tomorrow if I could.If you are from another state thinking to come to New York to live,especially Queens, don't come to Woodside, or Jackson heights. Especially if you have a family! Children won't be happy here. Its not safe to have kids here. I've seen someone rip a child right out of his mothers arms here! It was horrifying!I am a city girl, but would jump at the chance to live on a farm, far far away from here at this point in my life.Think twice before coming here with a family.Its not a good life for kids.I have kids, i know.I wish I could get them away from here, and go someplace much nicer,simpler.[read more...] |
