Lawrence County is located in northeastern Arkansas and has a population of about 17,000 people. It covers an area of 653 square miles and its county seat is Walnut Ridge. This county was founded in 1815 and named after James Lawrence who had served as a naval officer during the War of 1812. Agriculture is the main source of income for many residing here such as soybeans, corn and cotton among other crops as well as livestock farming too.
