Bertie County, NC is located in northeastern North Carolina and its estimated population (2020 data) stood at 21,053 making it one of least populated counties in this region overall. Its county seat is Windsor with other cities including Askewville & Lewiston giving us a perfect mixture of rural farmland & small communities that much more enjoyable to everyone living here or visiting for business or pleasure alike. Bertie County had been created out of parts of Chowan & Tyrrell Counties back in 1722 – posthumously named after James Bertie who served as Lord of Trade during the reigns of both William III and Queen Anne a few years prior.
