Cooler Than Tucson Due to our unique geographic situation (foothills and mountains up to 4600 feet in elevation) we receive more rain and more importantly much more frequent rains then the Tucson valley just a few miles South. In addition during the summer we have morning and late afternoon breezes due to the weather patterns prevailing in hills above a desert valley. Thus our average temperature may only be a few degrees cooler "officially" but because of the "misery index phenomena" we always feel 10 degrees cooler, or more.
