Cortez, CO
Not great place for kids -
10/7/2019I've lived here for about 6 years now. Cortez is a very small town with no really good paying jobs. So it might be best to have money already to live off of or a your own business.
95% of the people here are friendly and truly great people. They are what has caused me to still be living here.
That being said though, the Cortez city government is very corrupt on the management level and the worst I've ever seen.
The public school system has some great teachers overall but the system as a whole is awful. If you want your kids to be sexually active, do drugs and not be able to even spell when their adults, it would be exactly what you want. However if you want them to get a great education you will have to choose a private school. There are a few to choose from that are awesome. Not very expensive at all, small classes with more 1 on 1 and without all the awful stuff.
Like many other places their is a drug and homeless problem here.
There are many outdoor activities and parks but very little for kids to do. There is a Recreation center that charges for entry but its not really a safe place to just drop off your kids at. Other than that, there is a skate park to buy, sell or use drugs and a BMX track which is ok from everything I've seen and heard.

Very small Farm town -
4/17/2013Hermitage is a very small farm town with very little to offer. The people act friendly, but outsiders will ALWAYS know and feel that they are outsiders. The people here think they know everything and are the most important person in the world, even though they have NEVER left the state of missouri and the property they own was passed down from grandfather, to father and finally to them. Very closed minded people in general with sadly very few exceptions. The time that I spent working here was total "MISERY" and I should have known they simply spelt the name of the state wrong.
Gallatin, TN
Gallatin,TN -
4/21/2012Qallatin is a quiet place but in many ways is like a timewarp going back to the 40's when it comes to schools and business issues. It is a horrible place to raise kids if you plan on them having a higher education or anything other than being a farmer. This is also a place where if your not a member of a family that has lived here for generations you will soon know your an outsider in all categories. I have lived here for 2 extremely long yrs coming from Ashville, NC and Melbourne, FL and this by far is the worst place I've ever lived in regard to family or business.
Melbourne, FL
Melbourne Florida -
4/21/2012Melbourne and the surrounding areas are a good place to live and have great schools compared to many other areas around the country. I lived there 25 yrs and loved it. However the job market there is pretty tough if you don't already have a job.
