schools Posted On: 4/25/2007 1:58:52 AM

Well as for the comment about the schools of course theres only 15 per class the overall population of that place is constantly declining because of a poor economy and no culture in the next 10 years the town will be a ghost town guaranteed !!!! When i grew up there 10 years ago there was 25 per class now 15 that shows whats happening there !

IF you want to live in a real place wolfey move to Posted On: 5/11/2006 10:37:16 PM

The schools are good the job market is decent for the current economy . Its a big city and its expensive but very classy ,scenic and never run out of things to do .Im glad I left home Denver is much better than that toilet of Steubenville Weirton area . Denver is very friendly and clean for a city of this size .

DO NOT EVER MOVE HERE !!!!YOU WILL THANK ME !!! Posted On: 4/30/2006 7:34:54 PM

I was born and raised in steubenville left when i was 19 and havent been back since except for a family funeral . The cost of living is great 300-500 for a house or apartment but that doesnt matter cause it is nearly impossible to find a job in this place .Averagely 6-8 months unless you get lucky . The locals are not liberal at all not a diverse place theres no asians ,hispanics ,gays or any other minority for that matter except black and theres some racial tension there as well . The steel mills that used to support the area have went under so the only major corporations that are there is walmart and herald star newspaper . The population has decreased from 37,000 to 20,000 in about two or three decades . The crime is out of control for a small town of this size especially in the so called downtown area . Summers are humid but nice if your not dodging bullets from the occasional drive by shootings .There is a mall here but with all about 15 stores the closest thing to nice shopping or dining out is in pittsburgh pa ch is one hour away . There use to be alot here but because of the town relying on the steel mills and not promoting other major corporations theres no more back bone for the town . there is one college franciscan university which most of those guys finish and move somewhere else .The city government is broke along with the school system ,local residents are always moving out .The ohio river along the steubenville /weirton wv area is dirty and not really safe to swim in . Abandoned houses are common in this town and the city is always knocking more down after they sit and rot literally after a decade . The city government is trying to bring in more restoration of historic areas and they have but so far when i went back there last summer the only new things that are there are a couple dollar stores still no big industry to support the city.Thank goodnes I left when i did I now live in Denver ,Colorado which is very clean and safer than the small town of steubenville .

two years living here was enough for me Posted On: 9/5/2005 10:59:42 AM

Theres no high tech jobs the only thing there is to work for is retail and fast food ,the city is very diverse because its a military town but still unofficially segregated . Its nearly impossible to make friends here because the locals are close minded about meeting new people and the military guys are just antisocial .

DONT EVER MOVE HERE !!! Unemployment rate is 7 % !!!!!!!!

expensive , not diverse and no jobs Posted On: 9/5/2005 10:54:13 AM

Seattle is fun recreation and shopping wise now as for the job market its hard even to find retail or fast food jobs . There isnt very many minorities very very caucasion and maybe a little asian thats about it . The whole time i was i sensed alot of racial tension from the minorities and whites . A apartment thats less than 500 sq ft its upwards of 700 dollars and up ! A nice place to visit but not live if you like diversity and job oppurtunities . Theres alot of gay people there and they seem as undiverse as everybody else there . Everybody looks the same !

a scenic and fun city but pricey Posted On: 9/4/2005 10:27:20 PM

I love denver its very pretty and very fun all year round you never run out of shopping ,dining or entertainment and its very liberal . The job market is mediocre but not hard . Its pricey to live here but well worth it .
