Possible Job Transfer Posted On: 9/23/2007 8:14:09 PM
Hello all,
I currently live in Wisconsin, was recently transferred there from Phoenix. I have another possible transfer coming up, it would be to Grand Rapids. I was wondering if someone could give me some tips as to daycare, areas to live that are safe, yet close to shopping, entertainment, etc. Also, i would like to find out more about the general crime and what neighborhoods to stay out of. THank you in advance for your reponse...

Phoenix Took a PLUNGE !! Posted On: 11/25/2006 5:50:24 AM
My fiance and I had moved to phoenix 4 years ago. We had moved due to lack of opportunity in the midwest where we are from. Granted, there is a ton of opportunity in the valley, I have to agree with the previous post in that the jobs are extremely low paying jobs that make you feel useless. There are a ton of phonies driving around in their hummers, escalades, mercedes in which think they are the best, and the world should revolve around them; no one here is friendly, it's like the official Mexico of the United States. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that when we first moved here in 2003, we liked to live here, and thought that we may have found our home, but after more and more people keep moving in, and the cost of living keeps rising, however the housing market is crashing faster than people can get out. My opinion is that the valley is going down, and only down. Everyone I have talked to has said that they want to move home, where ever that may be, iI have to agree, and that this place is fake.
Considering Relocating to Richmond.. Some advice ? Posted On: 10/18/2006 10:22:06 AM
Hi everyone,
I have been keeping an eye on some of the recent posts in regards to Richmond. So far, it is above average in respect to how everyone views the city. That is a good start. My wife and I are now living in Glendale, Az (suburb of Phoenix) and we can not stand it at all. There are good and bad factors, but the bad outweighs the good by far in my opinion. The city is ful of transcients from all over the US and nobody seems to be friendly towards one another unless your in their clique of friends. My main concern is if this is a suitable place for a young, new family. We are just starting our family, and have a baby on the way. We want to get out of Phoenix, because as some of you may know, Phoenix and arizona are ranked dead last as far as education. I also would like to know about the housing prices, and the economy as far as jobs go. If anyone at all could inform me of some of these concerns that I am having, it would be greatly appreciated... Thank you
