read carefully: Sacramento is overcrowed, dry, and traffic is hell. The pop. of Sacramento alone is 500,000. If, you count the closely nit suburbs such that of elks grove, and rancho cordova it is alot more. Practically every suburb has 100,000 people. That is the population of some capitals in other states! Combine that with the pop of Sacramento you've got just under 1million (if not more). It never rains in Sacramento or surrounding areas. It is as dry as the dust bowl. It makes everything look dead. I am orignally from the midwest(WI,MN) where everything is alot greener. Because of everything looking dry all the time the heat certainly does not help to lift the spirt for Sacramento. In Sacramento the heat is at times trapped because Sacramento is in a valley. Sacramento is the not sterotypical Cali lifestyle with lively palm trees and beaches. You have to go to the coast for that. The most stressful part of Sacramento is Traffic. But I mean this with intenseness. I have driven everywhere from Chicago, Miami, FL, MS, AL, IN,WI,MN. ID, through the rockies to get to cali. I have driven everywhere. The other thing to read carefully is Traffic is hell! It doesn't matter if you driving on the freeway, HWY, or in town everywhere is jam pack, the cars won't let you up for air ever (it's that congested). In Sacramento you can be on the HWY and literally be stopped for what seems an eternity. This is on the HWY!!!! A 10-15min drive anywhere else takes a 25-30min in the Sacramento area. Also, I think half of the population driving has never taken Drivers ed. And maybe don't have a DL. California is suppose to be very environmental aware. Here in Sacramento they have smog checks as a requirement for cars. Personally I think it's because of all the cars that there is so much smog. I think it contradits the whole Green premise of at least Sacramento. To top it off it is not a safe city. Whenever I watch the nightly news I always here someone if not several people were murdered or have had terriable things happen to them! Don't get me wrong. I am sure there are nice parts of Sacramento CA. So, don't just go making an opinion based on what I've said. I am the neg. point of view.
