A Nice Place to Live -
6/9/2010Salisbury is a very quite and convenient place to live. It is located in Rowan County and serves as the county seat. Housing cost are low with a wide range of housing options. Fishing and boating activities are available on the Yadkin River and High Rock Lake in northeastern Rowan County. The Uwharrie Mountains, the Black Mountains and the Pisgah National Forest are within a 1-2 hour drive and provide backpacking, camping, and fishing. The town is located halfway between Winston-Salem and Charlotte both of which are within a 30-60 minute drive of Salisbury. This provides easy access to two major airports, major shopping venues, major health care facilities, NASCAR, and various historical and cultural activities. The N.C. Zoo is about an hour away in Asheboro. There are two private liberal arts colleges in Salisbury and a mid sized community hospital. In addition, the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer, N.C. is about 10 minutes from downtown Salisbury. Salisbury is also corporate headquarters for Food Lion and Cheerwine. I've live in Salisbury for eight years. It's nice place to raise a family or retire.
