Placitas (Sandoval County), NM
What is happening in Plactias? -
2/23/2013We are considering moving to Placitas from the Eastern high plains of NM. However, I am wondering why there are almost 10% of the housing for sale. The property values had nosed dived in 2011, and they are still low for the area. Is there a problem with water? I noticed a gravel mine near I-25. Is that expected to expand? If anyone can shed some light on the living/housing situation in Placitas, I would appreciate it.

2/22/2013I recommend ABQ. I left NY 40 years ago and lived in CA, TX, ID, NV as well. My husband and I are mixed race couple and live in the most conservative, backwards part of NM, and decided to retire in the ABQ area. We are researching Placitas which is low crime and has a lot of retirees and housing isreally low right now. We are trying to find out why there are so many homes for sale. We think it may be people who decided they don't like desert living...but we love it. Check it out on the Web.
