I grew up in Virginia Beach and moved to Suffolk. I had no idea this place was so trashy. Downtown Suffolk looks like a ghetto and crack heads are walking all over the place. Violent crime is twice the national average and there are way too many public housing areas. Public housing = higher taxes and higher crime. Maybe someday after the land values go to high for the slum lords and losers to afford to live here anymore, Suffolk will become an OK place. For now it is crime-ridden, ugly, and has horrible schools.
