Hello Tim. The safe area i recommend is up north. Anywhere from peoria on up...stay away from the mids to the south. And yes yard sales are very active. Mids would be, northern all the way to mcdowell. South is buckeye to southern. Dont move in those areas.

I lived in phx for 30yrs. its actually a great place to live. the one thing i will say is, being there you have to watch your surroundings and the class of people you choose to mingle with. lots are into trying to impress someone else and not theirselves. everyone is merely in competition with one another. Not too many hometown college grads in phoenix, maybe in the surrounding cities, like scottsdale and paradise valley, cities of an intellectual based community. I ran a business for majority of my time there. lots and lots AND LOTS, of jealous people. Choose a circle that goes to church more often than none, fine dines with wine, maybe plays golf and of course if youre a man, make sure the men in the circle are heads of their households and respects their wives and kids. A lot are not married, just shacked up as well. My parents still reside there, and yes, they are married, college grads, x politicians as well and church goers. take it from me, listen to this advice if one plans on moving there. Stay off drugs as well. I left to pursue my MD degree.
