We have lived in Clifton for 21 years. The Army brought us to Fairfax County and our two boys were born here. I switched to sales and my wife is a stay at home mom. Out sons graduated from Centreville High School with honors and scholarships and both graguated in Computer Science from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, 110 miles away. My wife and I were born in NYC and this was the farthest north we wanted to be.

Clifton is a quaint 100+ year old one mile square town surrounded by a giant zip code of modern huge homes. Mostly professionals live here and work somewhere else. Plenty of lawyers, and federal law enforcement and senior military. One strip shoping center on the north end of the zip code, but it is very nice. A 60 minute commute to Washington, DC 21 miles away. Good work areas close by at Westfields and Fair Lakes. A giant mall with six anchors at Fair Oaks about five miles away. A Costco and Wegmans (you must go there)close, too. A few miles west are the Bull Run battlefields for the Civil War buffs. The schools are excellent, the safety is comforting and the people are fine. Not small town types where everyone knows everybody, but if you project yourself you will meet people to like. Dulles Airport is close enough to be handy but you don't have to be concerned about noise. Clifton is a pretty place and the amemities are very good.
