Tustin, CA

Fantastic weather and good people all for a price - 6/7/2017
I grew up in Tustin. The major pro is it has a small town feel with access to many choices of shops and restaurants.

Don't let these negative Nancys fool you the weather is wonderful. It stays, and I am not joking, between 60 and 90 degrees almost all year. In June there is a thing called June Gloom which means that it is overcast all the time. Sounds yucky, but it keeps the temperature mild. It only really happens in June. Also there are the "Santa Ana Winds" which is a week or so of hot dry wind that is very powerful. It has never happened more than three times in a year since I have lived there, yeah it sucks but it is a break from the "cold" high 60s winter. It's not just Tustin, it almost all of Orange County that is affected by the winds.

There are three high schools in Tustin School District. Beckman, on the edge of Irvine, Foothill, near the hilly part of Tustin, and Tustin High School. Both Beckman and Tustin when I lived there (2014) were great schools. In those schools majority of the students are planning on attending college. I don't know much about Tustin High, sorry. Parent's are involved in both schools and sports.

There is something different about living in Orange County. All of the cities are connected which means you have a lot of work options, higher education, and more entertainment possibilities.

Here is the drawback, Tustin has a high cost of living. I am sure you have seen the numbers and they aren't lying. That is the sole reason why I am not living there. If you can handle the cost of living, I suggest you live in Tustin.
