Augusta, ME
Excessive crime and violence pushed us out -
9/11/2016We spent 1 year in Augusta. It is probably the cutest Capitol city that I have ever visited in the US. That being said, it has a dark underbelly and a ruthless drug culture. We lived on Flagg Street. The crime in our area was none stop. We decided to flee when the pastor's house and then the church got robbed. Of course we were not left out. Our car was burglarized as well. But when these drug addicts have so little shame that they will rob the church and the pastor, that is when I realized that this is no place to bring up kids.
We left after the double homicide on Christmas day December 25th 2015.
We miss many things about Augusta, but we don't miss the crime
