Redding is great for young couples or singles. We have Shasta college and Simpson university. However, trying to support a family of 4 in Redding has proven difficult for my family and many others. Jobs here do not pay well. I would suggest finding the job you want BEFORE you move here and be aware that working out of town in a big possibility. I am also not impressed with the public school system here(K-8). On a positive note, there are endless outdoor activities to participate in. I also enjoy the fact that we have a good selection of stores and don't have to fight through traffic to get to them.
