I lived in Colorado Springs for 3 years, and it is one of the nicest places I've lived. Beautiful mountains with Pike's Peak to the west and overall nice, four-season weather. I lived there while single and then with a family & found that it was suitable for both. There are plenty of things to do, but Denver is also close enough for a quick trip.

The weather here is nice. There are four seasons, but it seems to me that spring and fall are relatively small compared to summer and winter. It is more windy than I'd like, but overall the weather is quite mild (we're in Northern Nevada) if it gets too hot in the summer, we can always go up to Lake Tahoe to cool off.
