re: La Jolla is gorgeous but we want to move - 10/ -
12/7/2009You sound as if you can no longer afford the area and the state's increasing economic woes and are looking for a reason to leave. Please do not bad mouth one of the most scenic, all-American beach areas just because of your circumstances. Hands down, in my family’s opinion, the stuffy estates of Westchester County, the grime and crime of L.A., and NYC, and the uptight, pretentious attitudes of the east coast Connecticut crowd not to mention the awful, cold, stormy weather make me comforted to live my life in La Jolla, where people still smile and wave hello when they pass you on the street because they appreciate living in such a beautiful community! You will miss it when you are stuck in commuter traffic, on icy roads with dirty brown slushy “snow” lining the streets, and when you exit your vehicle sub zero wind chill freezes the tears in your eyes and skin on your face! Maybe you need to leave to appreciate what you have in La Jolla. I am a first generation French blooded American, who earned two graduate degrees and am a right wing moderate, in case you are wondering...not that it matters. San Diegans have been nothing but gracious to me... Best wishes!

12/7/2009I live in the beach paradise of La Jolla, San Diego, California and love it! I have lived in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles and I never could find a good reason to stay. I would never leave La Jolla by choice.
