Quiet- Not a lot to do - SMALL town -
10/19/2013Cheyenne is a small town. People live here for a long time. A lot of seniors. After college most leave, to pursue careers in more thriving communities. It is a nice place to come home to, to visit your parents. But if you are looking for social life, it isn't here. Traffic & commute time isn't here either, nor are swarms of people, or a high cost of living. There isn't a lot of crime. However the trade off is, there isn't anything else either. There are a few chain restaurants- olive garden, red lobster etc., on the main drag. But you will not find anything trendy, hip, or unusual. If you like quiet, people minding their own business, having a nice home for a low price, etc., you can get that here. As long as you recognize that you will need to travel 1 and 1/2 hours to get to Denver and have some fun. Even Fort Collins which is 1/2 hour away can give you a little variety/more things to do. So if you live in Cheyenne, the town itself is not a hotbed of activity, but you can have a very good quality of life, at a less expensive cost then other parts of the country.
